Freedom
Bengal Tiger

Birthday: September 23, 2001

Freedom enjoys a cool respite from the hot day.

Freedom's most noticeable features are not even there.  As a cub, she lost her ears and tail in an attack by some older tigers.  The resulting injuries landed her in Shand's burn unit in Gainsville where a part of her belly was grafted onto her thighs.  She was in critical condition for a long time, but Freedom showed her stripes and fought through to recovery.  She's grown into a massive tigress that has adapted well to her disabilities.  Just stay away when it comes time for food!

Magic Moments:

Some of the older volunteers actually call Freedom by her nickname "Hoo-hoo" because she makes an unusual hooting noise when vocalizing.
